Restoration - Some RUSTY of KNIFE
Hi! Today, the restoration of very rusty objects. Maybe it's a knife!? They may have been lying underground for more than 100 years, but I want to share with you new techniques and, most importantly, how to restore such items. Let's start the restoration!
The first thing I did was try to remove the thick layers of rust, then I put the items in the rust remover.
The next step is cleaning the petrified rust with sand, then with an iron brush and after manual processing.
After finishing the cleaning, I coated the surface of the knife with nickel. For the handle, I made overlays of leather and wood with new pins made of hard plastic.
I cut off the sheath of the knife (the metal became paper thin), glued it with tape and filled the sheath with liquid gypsum. After drying the gypsum, I plastered the surface of the scabbard twice and covered it with paint.
I re-soldered the scabbard suspension with silver. I made a new piece of hardware (quickly). At the end, I processed the handle of the knife and showed you a small test.

очень интересное видео! на 1:56 две камеры "Красногорск" - название моего города в подмосковье) у нас там завод кмз, в котором работала моя бабушка, выпускали фотоаппараты, кинокамеры, оптику, медицинское и военное оборудование.. месяц назад были в Тбилиси, были и на этой барахолке, очень понравилось. и про шашки интересно, столько истории за ними, у моего прапрадеда была такая. я шашками не занимаюсь, но по совпадению делаю ножи, поэтому тоже очень интересно. спасибо за видео, диди маглоба)

А казаки причем? Шашка Кавказское холодное оружие. Тест как я понял смотрели, но видимо не поняли откуда. Язык, застолье, шашка из Грузии.

@@Yalos80 Что касается "волчка" и Кавказа. Я вас спешу расстроить. Клеймо идет из города Пассау, Германия. Уже на Кавказе наши мастера искусно подделывали данную шашку. Но к Кавказу она не имеет отношения. В силу качественной немецкой стали, данный вид оружия был крайне популярен. А, что касательно Грузии и кавказкой шашки, пожалуйста читайте книги но на документальной основе. Успехов.

Привет! Спасибо я всего лишь учусь, ковать ножы нет, из делал с нуля из пил. Ковал рк для топоров пару раз, получалось надежно. Т.е. реставрация топора была и делал новую рк из рашпиля или напильника

Мастер достоин всяческих похвал, и усилия преложил не малые, респект! Но наверное есть та черта, за которой предмет имеет такие утраты, которые реставрации в общепринятом смысле уже не поддаются и все усилия по их восстановлению приводят по сути к появлению новой вещи.

Конечно этому клинку все равно, но в принципе ножны с внутренней стороны наждачной бумагой лучше не трогать, ибо всегда есть риск что там может застрять зерно абразива.
